Business Bigbury

Supporting farms and businesses in Bigbury is good for everyone! It builds our local economy and strengthens community relationships and resilience.  Businesses are the economic backbone of our parish. And buying locally genuinely reduces your carbon footprint.

To support sustainable local businesses and signpost them to residents and visitors, Bigbury Net Zero plans to publish an annual Planet Bigbury Directory. Get in touch if you have a local business or service in Bigbury. We'd love to hear from you!

Planet Local

What have we done?

  • Developed branding and the concept of Planet Local

  • Piloted and established Planet Local shelf signs in our village shop, Holywell Stores

  • Promoted local businesses and farms in the parish magazine

  • Introduced local businesses to grants and technical support for carbon foot-printing.

Next Steps?

  • Extend the Planet Local branding to menus and other retail offers in Bigbury

BNZ is working to develop good relationships with local businesses, discovering their ambitions for net zero and how we can help each other communicate messages about how to help nature and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

The Planet Bigbury scheme will fund our Community Chest and help create more habitat for wildlife and switch to renewable energy.
